Presentation Pointers

For some people, their greatest fear is speaking in front of a group of people. Most of the nervousness has to do with actually writing and preparing for the speech. It is very useful to know how to create a great speech or presentation because it can help your business.

A good speech can change the way people think and make you stand out from everyone else. To help you do this, here are some tips to giving a great speech.

- Always have a goal and write down items you want to accomplish. It is important to know what you want to make happen so you are focused and can achieve something positive.

- A good presentation needs to be structured. You need to tell them what you are going to say or do.

- Keep the amount of information to a minimum. If you have too much information you will bore people.

- Figure out exactly the type of people who are in your audience and change your speech to connect with them better. Use video, audio, or touch to get different audiences involved.

- Allow yourself plenty of time to research your presentation. Determine what your audience likes and keep a file of articles or ideas you have that may work for them. If you don’t have a lot of time you should ask a couple questions to people before going out or ask the audience while doing your presentation.

- Input personal stories into your presentation so more people understand and relate to what you are saying.

-The opening of your presentation should be strong and the closing should be the same way. It is important to start off on the right foot and end with people taking your message home.

- If you think your speech will have too much information then give hand outs to people with all the extra information they will need.

- Don’t use extremely big words; use language that everyone will be able to understand.

- Every time you add something new to your speech, you should go over it by reading the whole section or the whole speech over.
