What to do when times are slow | Internet Marketing Help for Small Businesses

Helping your Business During Slow Times

If your business gets slow certain times of the year, you shouldn’t sit around and wait for customers to come. Use the extra time you have to help improve your business in the years to come. Here are some things you can do:

-Look at the amount of time that is taking up administrative duties and consider getting a virtual assistant. If you have gotten hit hard at tax time then you should meet with an accountant to take a look at what you can write off. Maybe you need to ask around and hire a new accountant. What about your lawyer? Does he/she charge too much? Check out other options you have that will help you save money and give you better service.

-Figure out a better way to make more sales on your website. If you are paying for a website, it should be beneficial. Get a second opinion on your site and the areas that need to be improved.

-If you have an ezine or a newsletter you email to subscribers, you can change it around and improve it. Put better content on it and figure out a way you can make the most sales off it.

-To pass the time, you can organize your emails better. Trash any emails you don’t need anymore. Make separate folders for emails you haven’t replied to, emails that need to be answered quickly, and emails that aren’t about work. If you can organize your emails better, you will spend less time searching through them and figuring out what needed to be done with each one.

-You can organize hard copies of files and clean out your whole office. Get rid of everything you haven’t used and papers you don’t need should be trashed or stored properly.

-Clean up your computer. Get rid of things you don’t need. You probably need to upgrade software as well. And don’t forget to have backups of important documents.

-Send customers thank you cards and give them discounts on items you have. Letting people know they are appreciated will help your company.

-If you need more money, look to a tele-seminar to help fatten your pockets. People will pay to listen to your expert advice on the area of your business.

-To get yourself thinking and give yourself a boost in confidence, write down what you have accomplished over the past year. After you do this, you can make goals for the year or years ahead.

-Use the slower times to enjoy yourself and relax.
