A tip for a successful website is to look at your site from your customer’s eyes. Another tip is to watch out for common web pitfalls. These are the pitfalls:

-Look at your website, does it start with “Welcome to?” If it does then delete it- you might as well have put nothing there because it doesn’t mean anything. It’s a misuse of your traffic’s time and space. Also the phrase is rather dull, so try something that explains your business’ benefits. If you have”Welcome to Mark’s Record Store,” try “Mark’s Record Store, where you can get old time records with quality sound.”

Look at what your customers are doing when they enter your site; do many of them go past the home page? If not then you could have a problem with the navigation on your site. If there are a lot of pages on your site, you should add an internal search to assist customers.

The customers are the ones who really run your site, your site is for them. But, it is your specific area of knowledge that will help them and keep them coming back. Put more sentences with we, me and I in your content.

Have you ever gone to a site to liked the product, then when you wanted to ask a short question, you weren’t able to find their contact information? You should put your email address or contact number on each page. Any in-depth information should be on a separate contact page.

If you have a section for the terms and conditions then you are doing the right thing. If you don’t, you need to get one. When terms, conditions and privacy policies are located somewhere on your site it gives the customer trust in your product and eases their mind on any doubts.
Testimonials are the simplest way to gain your customers’ interest and trust. If you have sentences say your product is great this will not work. In-depth testimonials telling how your product helped them work much better. Try to include a picture or even a picture of them with your product.
