Say Thank You, it Helps

We say thank you in appreciation of a courtesy extended by someone. All of us were taught this at a young age by every adult in our life. Many children say it without even considering it. However, a lot of people in the business world don’t say it. Not saying thank you can have an adverse effect on your business’ growth.

In today’s fast paced world, those who are courteous definitely stand out from the crowd. We are all rushing to get our jobs done and sometimes in this rush it is very easy to forget to say thank you with your customers, co-workers, vendors and many others that you see on a daily basis.

People like to be made to feel special and worth talking to. By using thank you with your clients, you send out a message that they want to listen and pay attention to - their business is valuable to you.

If you aren’t sincere when you say thank you, you might not even want to say it. People can tell when someone really means it. Give your customer the attention they deserve, look at them and genuinely thank them for their patronage. If you can’t say thank you in person a great alternative is writing a thank you note. Being able to sell additional services and get referrals is increased with a personally signed note. Clients will be more willing to refer friends and family to you when they know business with you is pleasant and professional.

Thank you notes don’t cost much and are a very important tool. Try integrating thank you notes into the every day function of your business and you will be paid back with business.
