Dangerous print and mail out businesses | Internet Marketing Help for Small Businesses

Risky Print/Mail Businesses

There is a lazy way to simple revenue in mail orders and it is the idea of someone doing all your work for
you. It works this way:

One way is by sending a camera-ready ad to someone who advertises a print/mail business and they will print and mail it to thousands of names on their list. All you need to do is pay a fee while they do all the work. If you did this a few times more you could have hundreds if not thousands of your offers to buyers within weeks.

This is a problem because it doesn’t work that easily, at least not having it be profitable for the person who expects to become barraged with orders. The top mailers in the business can only make a small percentage of return for their customers, so you would have to mark your price up on your offer and reach millions of customers if you want it to be profitable. If you have a sure offer that creates about 3% return when you mail it alone, you will be fortunate to get .5% when sent out by a mailer along with hundreds of others.

Some offers you get can produce a good revenue even with such a small percentage of return, but it doesn’t happen very often. Your mark up required would have to be really high. If the proposition calls for $10 and you can make it for $1, that is 5 orders per thousand and 50 orders per 10,000. Some deals might be able to live on this, but some can’t. You will need to do figure out some things to decide whether it’s worth attempting.

There is a down side to this; there has been a lot of talk about such print/mail service’s honesty and quality. Many of them have mediocre printing, frequently smudgy in many shades of gray instead of black and white. Some lists they use are essentially worth nothing. Another error in this is that some dishonest mailers with businesses don’t deliver the amount they say they do. They claim to deliver thousands but only print and mail a couple hundred. It is really hard to prove someone guilty of doing this. Be cautious if going the route of a print/mail service because it is extremely risky.
