How to Focus when Cold Calling

If you are a person who is making cold calls on a daily basis it can get very tiring. Even if you are the best cold-caller there is you can still get burnt out from the nonstop action of it. It can be very hard to stay focused on each prospective customer for 6 or so hours a day. What can you do to help yourself from feeling unfocused and burned out?

Making calls over the phone can get very tiring and requires a lot of concentration. It is important to stay motivated and have the answers to any questions that may come up.

The best thing you can do when cold calling is to have a couple hours in the morning free just to make calls to new people. After you do this, then you should make service calls to the people you have been previously dealing with. Make sure to take a few breaks during the day to walk around and get loose. Also make sure to have a bottle of water by your side.

Another great way to stay focused is to have rewards for your self. If you make a certain amount of calls then set aside some money. At the end of the month or week you should buy yourself something really nice. Have an office buddy to talk with in confidence. Support each other when you feel you are at your wits end.

You could also get positive letters from clients and put them in your cubicle. Any great words of thanks or sentences should be highlighted. If you know people really value your company or your services to them then you will feel less like you are doing a job and more like you are making a difference.

Always know that what you are doing is not easy so feel good about what you are achieving. Think about everything you have done for your current customers and how you can bring that to new clients. Make a list of those things so it makes you feel great and keep that near you.
