Getting Business Endorsements

Client endorsements are an inexpensive and simple sales device, especially for people who are just beginning to start their business. Here are a few ideas on how to receive and utilize them:

Send follow-up letters to clients/customers. A few weeks after doing business with someone, send them a questionnaire letter or a postcard. Make sure to provide an are for them to write their own thoughts on what they liked the most about your company, product/service. Make it a point to pay for both the outgoing and incoming postage so they can simply return it back to you.

Go through your files and search for your latest letters from happy customers. You could even use some of their points in your sales material. Before you do this, always get written permission from the person wrote the letter or comment. Make sure to ask if you can edit their comments. Some responses may be too lengthy for your marketing material, or contain information that you don’t need to include.

Focus on the positives and choose letters that say their problems have been solved. You can gently nudge these types of comments out of your clients by asking them in the survey how your business assisted them in improving their jobs. Ask people if it would be alright to use their names. Testimonials work much better when a name is attached to it, anonymous testimonials appear to people as made up. Just include the name and company they work for.

Begin to use endorsements to expand your business, it’s quite simple.
