Direct Mailing Rules

Here are some rules for your direct mailers you need to follow…

-You need to have a clear picture of what you want to accomplish in your mailer. Once you have this you can create the mailer to get that done.

-You should know what kind of people you need to market to.

-Don’t send out mailers to people that aren’t in your target market. Your mailer should offer your audience something they need or want.

-The mailers you send out should be one piece of a great marketing plan. It should complement all your marketing strategies, like advertisements and PR.

-Pay special attention to every little detail in your mailer. Everything should look perfect and be spelled correctly. If there are any names on it besides yours, then you should double check the spelling.

-A good idea is to ask customers how frequent they want to hear from you and get information. Avoid sending out a lot of stuff in December. Send frequent mailers to your best customers.

-Always follow up with people you have sent direct mail to. Especially when it’s a small group.
